Ambassador Tatoul Markarian Attends 90th Anniversary of the First Republic Celebration

Ambassador Tatoul Markarian visited New Jersey on May 31 to attend the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the first Republic of Armenia. The celebration was organized by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, and brought together more than a thousand Armenians from the eastern United States.

In his keynote address, Ambassador Markarian spoke about the main historical lessons drawn from the Republic of Armenia in 1918. Among these lessons are the importance of the national unity, unreserved support for the Armenian statehood, and strengthening Armenia’s capacity to successfully address external challenges. The Ambassador noted that these are best prerequisites for building a strong and prosperous Armenia, defending the freedom of Artsakh, and the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

The Ambassador of Armenia also presented the policy initiatives of the newly-elected President and the new government.
