Celebration of the 17th Anniversary of Independence in Washington, DC

On September 30, 2008 the Embassy of Armenia hosted its traditional diplomatic reception to celebrate the seventeenth anniversary of Armenia’s Independence in Washington, D.C. More than 200 high-ranking officials from the US Department of State and other US Departments, USAID, foreign Ambassadors and high-ranking diplomats, U.S. and foreign military officers, and representatives of the World Bank and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Washington-based think tanks and private organizations, as well as the clergymen and representatives of the Armenian-American political organizations came to celebrate Armenia’s National Day.

Ambassador Tatoul Markarian in his remarks emphasized Armenia’s progress since independence and referred to the new tasks.
