US - Armenia Task Force Meeting in Washington

On November 21, 2008 the semi-annual meeting of the US-Armenia Joint Economic Task Force took place at the US Department of State. The Armenian delegation included Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakossian, Ambassador of Armenia to the US Tatoul Markarian, First Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Aharon Chilingaryan, Head of the Civil Aviation Department Artem Movsesyan and other officials.

The focus of the discussions was the improvement of the investment climate in Armenia, the energy security of Armenia, and issues of regional integration.

Head of the Civil Aviation Department of Armenia Artem Movsesyan and US Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Fried signed an agreement on “Air Transport.” The document enables the air transporting companies of both countries to establish direct flights.

The Armenian delegation had meetings also at the Office of the US Trade Representative, Department of Commerce, and at the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
