Armenian Armed Forces Day Celebrated in Washington, DC

On January 28, 2005, the Armenian Embassy held a reception to celebrate the Armenian Armed Forces Day, one of the most important post-independence holidays in Armenia. The Armed Forces Day is meant to pay tribute to the heroism and perseverance of the Armenian soldiers, officers, and freedom-fighting volunteers in the defense of Armenia and Artsakh, and to the unwavering dedication and vigilance of the Armenian Armed Forces, widely acclaimed as the best military force in South Caucasus.

The Embassy’s Armed Forces Day reception was attended by representatives from the U.S Department of Defense and Joint Chiefs of Staff, foreign military attaches, as well as State Department officials, foreign Ambassadors and diplomats accredited to the United States, and prominent members of the Armenian-American community in Washington, D.C.
