Back to Embassy Press Realeases PRESS RELEASE U.S.-Armenia Security Dialogue On September 9-10, 2002, an Armenian interagency delegation visited Washington, DC to participate in regular discussions on security issues between the governments of the United States and the Republic of Armenia. The Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tatul Markarian, and was comprised of officials from the Foreign, Defense, and National Security Ministries, as well as Ambassador Arman Kirakossian and Armenian Embassy officers. During the security dialogue, U.S. and Armenian government representatives
discussed the international campaign against terrorism and the perspectives
for U.S.-Armenian military cooperation, and addressed issues related to
regional cooperation and security in South Caucasus, peaceful settlement
of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, demining, non-proliferation, and bilateral
cooperation in export control. |
