One day the cock got up on the roof to see the world. He extended his neck upward but saw nothing; the mountain opposite prevented him from seeing what there was there.

"Brother Doggy do you know what lies beyond that mountain?" the cock asked dog lying in the yard.
"I don't know" answered "How long shall we stay here like this? Let's go and see the world!"
The dog agreed. They decided to run away and so they did. They walked on and on till they came to a wood. They had to spend the night there. The dog lay down under a bush the cock perched up on the branch of a tree nearly and they went to sleep. At dawn the cock crowed.
"Cock-a-doodle-doo..."
A fox heard his voice "Oh! Where does that voice come from? What a nice breakfast!" thought the fox and ran to the tree. "Good morning brother cock what are you doing here about?"
"We' re going to see the world " replied the cock.
"Oh how well you have thought" said the fox.

"For a long time I've been looking for a good friend. How nice it is we met! Now come down let's start!" ''I'm ready " said the cock "I wonder what my partner would say. Just a minute. I'll come down and we'll ask him."
"Where's your friend?" 1 He s under the bush over there."
"His friend must be another cock and that will be my dinner " thought the fox and ran to the bush. All of a sudden the dog came out. The fox saw him and took to his heels.
"Wait for us brother fox have some patience we're coming too. What kind of a friend are you!" called the cock from the top of the tree.
