On behalf of the American people, I congratulate you and the people of Armenia on the twelfth anniversary of your independence on September 21.

Armenia has been a valued partner to the United States in the war against terrorism. I am certain that our collaboration in this endeavor, which is crucial to the future of both our countries, will continue and expand in the future.

The United States is committed to working with the Government of Armenia to implement economic and political reform in order to secure prosperity, democracy and security for the Armenian people. In turn, a prosperous and stable Armenia will play an important and beneficial role in the Caucasus region. I look forward to deepening the relationship between our two countries.
